Ingredients
8 ounces pre-packaged coleslaw mix shredded cabbage and carrots
1/2 cup good quality mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
Salt to taste
Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Transfer coleslaw mix to a large mixing bowl
2. In a separate medium bowl whisk together mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth
3. Add red wine vinegar and whisk until fully incorporated
4. Gradually add sugar while whisking continuously until fully dissolved then taste and adjust
5. Add pinch of salt and whisk once more
6. Pour dressing over coleslaw mix and toss until every piece is evenly coated
7. Add freshly cracked black pepper and toss once more
8. Cover tightly and refrigerate 20 to 30 minutes minimum
9. Drain any excess liquid just before serving and give a final toss
Notes
Adjust sugar amount to personal preference before tossing with cabbage.
Making the night before enhances flavor development significantly.
