Description

A creamy and crispy Hashbrown Casserole with shredded hashbrowns, cream of chicken soup, tangy sour cream, sharp cheddar cheese, and a buttery cornflake topping baked until golden and bubbly. The ultimate easy comforting crowd-pleasing bake.


Ingredients

1 bag 30 oz frozen shredded hashbrowns thawed

1 can 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup

1 cup sour cream

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 small onion finely diced

1/2 cup unsalted butter melted

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

2 cups crushed cornflakes or Ritz crackers for topping

1/4 cup melted butter for topping


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and grease 9×13-inch baking dish

2. Combine thawed hashbrowns cream of chicken soup sour cream melted butter onion cheddar salt pepper and garlic powder in large bowl until well mixed

3. Spread mixture evenly into prepared baking dish and smooth the top

4. Toss crushed cornflakes with 1/4 cup melted butter and sprinkle evenly over casserole

5. Bake uncovered 45 to 50 minutes until bubbly and golden brown

6. Rest 10 minutes before serving for clean portions

Notes

Can be assembled the night before and refrigerated overnight before baking.

Let casserole sit at room temperature 30 minutes if baking from cold.

Freshly grated cheese melts more smoothly than pre-shredded.
