Description
A savory glossy Ground Turkey Skillet with lightly browned turkey, golden cremini mushrooms, wilted baby spinach, and a chicken broth pan sauce. A healthy protein-packed 30-minute one-pan weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 lb lean ground turkey 93% lean recommended
8 oz cremini mushrooms sliced
4 cloves garlic minced finely
1/4 cup chicken broth
4 cups fresh baby spinach leaves packed lightly
1 teaspoon coarse cracked black pepper freshly cracked
1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes adjust to taste
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt plus more to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat cast iron skillet over medium-high heat 3 minutes then add olive oil until shimmering
2. Add ground turkey break apart gently and let sit undisturbed 2 to 3 minutes to brown then cook through
3. Push turkey to edges and add mushrooms to center searing undisturbed 3 to 4 minutes until golden
4. Reduce heat to medium add garlic pepper chili flakes and salt toss and cook 60 seconds until fragrant
5. Pour chicken broth into skillet scrape all browned bits and reduce 1 to 2 minutes until glossy
6. Turn off heat and fold in baby spinach in handfuls until wilted bright green 1 to 2 minutes
7. Taste adjust seasoning and serve immediately
Notes
Let turkey rest at room temperature 15 minutes before cooking for better browning.
Never stir mushrooms immediately; let them sear undisturbed for golden edges.
Add garlic only after heavy browning steps to prevent bitter burning.
