Description
Crispy caramelized Cinnamon Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips made with ripe bananas, maple syrup, Ceylon cinnamon, and coconut sugar. A healthy guilt-free snack with 75% less fat than deep-fried versions, ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
3 to 4 medium ripe but firm bananas
1 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup or raw honey
1 1/4 teaspoons organic ground Ceylon cinnamon
2 teaspoons unrefined coconut sugar or turbinado sugar
1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
1 teaspoon arrowroot starch or tapioca flour recommended
Avocado grapeseed or coconut oil spray for basket
Instructions
1. Select yellow bananas with light brown speckles for perfect ripeness
2. Slice uniformly to 1/8-inch thickness using a mandoline
3. Whisk cinnamon coconut sugar salt and arrowroot starch reserving 1/4 for post-fry dusting
4. Toss slices lightly in maple syrup then sprinkle 3/4 cinnamon sugar on both sides
5. Preheat air fryer to 320F for 5 minutes and spray basket lightly with oil
6. Arrange slices in single non-overlapping layer max 12 to 15 per batch
7. Air fry at 320F for 8 minutes flipping at 4-minute mark
8. Increase to 350F and air fry 5 to 7 more minutes flipping at 3-minute mark until rigid and amber
9. Transfer to wire rack cool completely 10 to 15 minutes then dust with reserved cinnamon sugar
Notes
Always preheat air fryer fully before adding chips.
Cool completely on wire rack before storing for maximum crunch.
Use Ceylon cinnamon not Cassia for best flavor and health benefits.
