Ingredients

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast thinly sliced

3 cups green cabbage shredded

1 medium carrot julienned

1 red bell pepper sliced

3 green onions chopped

3 cloves garlic minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated

3 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free

1 tablespoon oyster sauce optional

2 teaspoons sesame oil

2 tablespoons vegetable oil for stir-frying

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional

1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon cornstarch plus 2 tablespoons water slurry

Toasted sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions

1. Slice chicken thinly against grain toss with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and set aside

2. Prep cabbage carrot bell pepper garlic and ginger

3. Whisk remaining soy sauce oyster sauce sesame oil vinegar and cornstarch slurry for sauce

4. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in wok stir-fry chicken 4 to 5 minutes until cooked through then remove

5. Add remaining oil stir in garlic ginger and red pepper flakes 30 seconds until fragrant

6. Add cabbage carrot and bell pepper stir-fry 3 to 4 minutes until crisp-tender

7. Return chicken pour in sauce and toss until coated and slightly thickened

8. Top with green onions and sesame seeds serve hot with rice or noodles

Notes

Slice chicken thinly against the grain for quick even cooking.

Cook on high heat without overcrowding for crisp not soggy cabbage.

Stir-fry in batches if doubling to maintain proper heat.
