Description
Tender scallops seared to golden perfection in butter and flavored with fresh sage, garlic, and lemon. This butter seared scallops recipe is quick, easy, and incredibly delicious!

- 1 pound dry packed sea scallops
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the scallops completely dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the scallops in the hot skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Sear the scallops for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove the scallops from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
- Stir in the chopped fresh sage and lemon juice. Simmer for another 30 seconds.
- Return the scallops to the skillet and toss to coat with the butter sage sauce.
- Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley, if desired.
