  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup dry white wine (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over high heat until shimmering. Sear the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer as needed.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Toss the shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook the shrimp in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
  6. Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
  7. Add white wine (if using) and simmer for 1-2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice and parsley; season with salt and pepper.
  8. Slice the steak against the grain. Arrange steak and shrimp on a plate and drizzle with garlic butter sauce.
