Italian Style Green Beans: The Easiest Seasoned Recipe

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Quick and easy Italian style green beans with garlic, red pepper flakes, and a hint of lemon. Perfect as a simple side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more, to taste)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and trim the green beans.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  3. Add the green beans to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic-infused oil.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cover the skillet and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the green beans are tender-crisp.
  5. Remove the lid and continue to cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, allowing the liquid to evaporate slightly.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Serve immediately.
