Caramel Chocolate Pretzel Bites: Easy Valentine Treats!

Description

These caramel chocolate pretzel bites are easy to make and the perfect combination of sweet and salty!


Ingredients

  • 1 bag (11 ounces) mini pretzel twists
  • 1 bag (14 ounces) caramel candies, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • Valentine’s Day sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange the mini pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a microwave safe bowl, combine unwrapped caramel candies and milk or heavy cream. Microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Spoon a small amount of the melted caramel onto the center of each pretzel.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 4 6 minutes, or until the caramel is softened.
  6. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and gently press a chocolate chip into the center of each caramel covered pretzel.
  7. Let the pretzel bites cool completely. This will allow the chocolate to set.
  8. While the pretzels are cooling, melt the remaining chocolate chips with vegetable oil in a microwave safe bowl using 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the pretzel bites or dip the pretzel bites completely.
  10. Sprinkle Valentine’s Day sprinkles on top of the chocolate before it sets. Let everything set completely.
